I'm Honored...
...to learn I'm the recipient of the first annual Beth A. Hoffman Memorial Prize for Economic Writing, which is hosted by the Foundation for Economic Education. The article that won me the prize is "The Distorting Effects of Transportation Subsidies," in the November issue of The Freeman. The award is named for Beth Hoffman (1950-2008), the late managing editor of The Freeman. As senior editor Sheldon Richman says, "Over the years FEE supporters and seminar students came to know her as the friendly face or voice on the telephone ever ready to assist anyone seeking to learn the freedom philosophy."
So thanks to all who made this possible.

Thanks, Julia.
Congrats Kevin! I'm amazed that The Freeman gave an award to a self proclaimed socialist.
Shhhh....
We're honored to bestow this award on you, Kevin, for a fantastic article. Congrats! -- Lawrence W. "Larry" Reed, President, FEE

Congratulations :-)
It's great to see one of my favourite authors getting more recognition.
I think you deserve it, your writing on some topics is first class and I won't be surprised to see you get more prizes in the future.
You manage to write in a way that is very clear and easy to read but without being superfacial or simplistic, you're always also very thorough and precise and you give a lot of interesting references.. for these reasons and others I've been telling friends for a while that I recommend reading anything and everything by you that they can.
Cheers

Thanks, Shachar!
Great, but I think you should get a Nobel !
Thanks, Larry. But I can't afford enough drones to inflict the amount of casualties it takes to be a Nobel contender these days.
