Mutualist Blog: Free Market Anti-Capitalism

To dissolve, submerge, and cause to disappear the political or governmental system in the economic system by reducing, simplifying, decentralizing and suppressing, one after another, all the wheels of this great machine, which is called the Government or the State. --Proudhon, General Idea of the Revolution

Good interview.

As regards Jaroslav Vanek and Benjamin Ward, may I point to section I.3.1 of An Anarchist FAQ. In a nutshell, like most of neo-classical economics, his critique is based on building a model with no relation to reality and then logically deducing what this model implies...

And as you mention Proudhon, I'll just say that my Proudhon Reader will be out next year to mark 170 years since "What is Property?" and the birth of anarchism as a named socio-economic theory. It will be entitled Property is Theft! and will contain quite a bit of newly translated material plus collating bits and pieces into book form for the first time.

And I guess I people could be interested in this extract from the introduction: Mutualists in the First International

Great interview.

Although, I didn't like the fact of mentioning Mondragon as Spanish. Sure, it operates in the Spanish State framework, but everybody here would prefer to see Basque Country mentioned. I know, it is a small detail and people not living here doesnt have to know our political situation nor its their fault to call a Spanish who doesnt feel like that, but mentioning these details is always good, so everybody can learn :)

I definitely am not comfortable with being "basque", but I hate much more to be called Spanish.

Hi Aritz,

That's a fair point and I've made the necessary modification.
