progressives in Maine this past weekend with the chair of the SVR board and Vermont Commons editor showing his "Independence Trilogy"...in the crowd via personal invitation by me was none other than John Rensenbrink the founder of the Association of State Green parties which became the Green Party of the US.

http://www.yesmagazine.org/article.asp?ID=972

I want to start reaching out to the Free State project in NH (I am a member) and the Green Party in Maine where the Greens '04 VP candidate Pat LaMarche is running for governor.

ultimately Vermont wants to confederate with NH, Maine and the Canadian Maritimes to form a new country called "New Acadia" about the size of Denmark but run under a system like the articles of confederation where power is devolved to local town meetings (face-to-face democracy) and then confederated via bio-regionally based "shire" (ward) republics.

for the economic devolution model we will be looking to the north where in the Province of Quebec alone, there are over 2,000 non-financial cooperatives with assets exceeding $2 billion (Canadian).

of course the catholic distributist Antigonish movement in Nova Scotia will be the
